Hi, my name is Katrina . I live in Kaitaia with my husband Colin and our two youngest children Jay and Lucas. I am the puppy Forster coordinator and also the Uber driver. We have had three Forster fails in our household Bella, Gumble and Prince I have been volunteering for the Doolittles for three years now. What a journey it has in an eye-opener to animal welfare in New Zealand. -You will see me driving in the Donna Doolittle van with my children or husband in toe, . It is a family affair and without their support I wouldn’t be able to do this full-time. Colin helps with transporting cages and runs to Forster families and also just doing what I ask him to for the rescue Our oldest daughter Tiana lives in Cambridge and is studying at Waikato University for her Bachelor of Nursing and when she is up here, she comes on long trips and helps with all the Forster dogs . J is in year 12 this year at Kaitaia college and is a valid volunteer of the Doolittle and also my right hand when I’m out and about in the community rescuing animals and delivering them to Forster families . Lucas is the baby of the family, and he also is at Kataia college, he is in year 10 this year and in the Te Puna aroha class. Lucas is autistic and also has other special needs and we have found him being involved with the rescue he has learned empathy and how to be caring and kind. Prince our recent addition is his best friend and has become his support dog in the last couple of months.
